What is FMO ?
FMO stands for the Federation of Manufactured Home Owners of Florida, Inc.
The Federation of Manufactured Home Owners of Florida, Inc., (FMO) is a statewide, consumer advocacy association dedicated to protecting the rights and interests and enriching the lifestyles of manufactured home owners. Formed in 1962, the FMO has a membership of approximately 60,000 manufactured home owners. FMO operates with more than 1,200 volunteer officers from around the state who serve members by answering questions, assisting with problems, organizing district meetings and workshops. Survey results reveal that 71 percent of FMO members joined FMO because of the clout it gives them in the Florida legislature.
Consistent with the mission of Sara-Cam, FMO’s mission statement is : To promote the general welfare of its members and protect the rights and interests of manufactured/mobile home owners and to be a consumer advocate for manufactured/mobile homeowners.
FMO members are individuals who share this interest; FMO does not offer membership to Home Owners Associations. Sara-Cam has membership in FMO through the President of the Board of Directors, a $25 annual membership paid out of the Sara-Cam budget. The President shares the bimonthly publication “FMO News” with all Board members, and Board members have access to the electronic version of this newsletter. The newsletter keeps the Board updated on legal issues and other matters pertinent to our Community.
